Character.

In an RPG, having a strong cast is crucial to the game's enjoyment. Even if the gameplay is fun, if the story does not resonate with players then they won't have interest in continuing. This is why the cast of Forgotten Stories has been thoroughly thought of to bring the greatest experience for players. Each character plays a different role within the story and shows a different aspect of creativity within people. Since everybody expresses their creative souls in plethora of ways, I hope to produce a cast that is diverse in ideas and in concepts.

Bean: The most extroverted person you will ever meet. She loves her friends and will do anything to help them and to spend time with them. She is a social butterfly and could be seen as the glue of the friend group. Some of her traits though can be overbearing, and people unfamiliar with her do deem her as self-absorbed and somewhat selfish with her want to always be in the spotlight. For the player she serves as a "tutorial", where she will guide the player whenever they struggle with any NPC.

Within the concept of creativity, she shows the human nature of wanting to share our experiences, how people become obsessed with continuous growth on social media, all stemming with the want to connect.

Faysol: The best friend of Bean, to a surprise of a lot of people due to their polarizing personalities. Faysol is reserved, straight-talking, and also a bit of a shut-in. He is most often seen alone photographing nature or reading books. He is working on multiple projects from photo albums to books, but he is just unable to push forward with anything. Alongside Bean, Faysol works with her to show the player the ropes of the world, where he specializes in locations and general information.

He shows how people tend to become disenchanted or distant to their work, often leaving it unfinished. Sometimes the cause for this is artistic block, or sometimes something deeper sits within the heart of the one who can never end the work he began.

Cally: Cally, alongside Liz, are Bean's good friends from younger days at school. Cally is a lovely but shy girl, and can often be overlooked. She doesn't mind it, as people that are important to her will care about her, especially since she has been a center of attention due to her miracle birth. She works at her parents' cafe and seems to be just floating by. She has some small hobbies, but she rarely ever talks about them to others.

Cally is the personification of failure anxiety, where she refuses to begin to show her heart through sewing due to the fear of failure and the fear of people's eyes on her creations. She keeps everything to herself, often not even involving her friends, and accepts her life as it is even despite the rooted want to create.

Liz: Unlike the other characters, Liz is not an aspect of creation but rather a foil to multiple characters within the story. Her and Bean used to be inseparable as kids, but nowadays both of them are trying to figure out life. She is brash and unapologetically straight-forward, never shying away from sharing her opinion. This is why it's widely known that her mother has been murdered and she is still looking for the culprit

The story of Liz deals with loss and how it affects a family, how her siblings and her father respond to her actions, and the love she has for her mother to keep searching for the culprit. Liz is deeply intertwined with the significant aspects of the world due to the connection she formed through her mother.

Athru: Unlike others, Athru is not a part of the group at the beginning of the story. He is an outsider to society and refuses to communicate with anybody face to face. Unlike the introversion of Faysol, or the shyness of Cally, his rejection of society stems from trauma. He is cunning, considerate, and careful, and often gets flustered in social situations due to his difficulty with connecting with others.

He has grand ideas and plans, but no matter how close he comes to be happy, his scope increases and he is still dissatisfied. Athru continues to aim higher and higher at the stars, but forgets to look back where he came from to remember his progress. That's the creative process for some, where they become too ambitious until their ambition burns them out.
