Future Plans - DevDiscussions

Hello everyone!

I am here to talk about the future of Forgotten Stories, the general roadmap, what to expect from the game, and other little snippets from the development cycle.

At the moment Forgotten Stories is going through the story writing phase. Two of the four planned chapters have been planned out with generic points for side missions. 80% of important in-game characters have been designed, but may still go through changes to personality and visuals while in the planning stage. This outline is important as it will dictate many choices such as how the environments will look, what pacing to expect from the game, and what will be the ratio between text to gameplay. (In the end, it's a game and not a visual novel!)

That being said, the current progress on the game has halted due to personal matters and little to no programming progress has been happening. While stories can be thought of and written on the go, programming requires time, patience, and quiet time in front of the computer, all of which I am currently lacking in life.

The game is still estimated to take years to develop, with a minimum of one year of continuous development which would include modeling and programming. Sadly, bills do have to be paid and it has decreased the hours I can work on the project significantly.
